About ImplicitifyAI
A multimodal psychometric assessment platform built at the intersection of clinical psychology, computational linguistics, and behavioral science.
Mission
ImplicitifyAI exists to close the gap between clinical-research methodology and everyday psychological practice. Every instrument on this platform is drawn from the peer-reviewed literature and administered exactly as validated — no proprietary modifications, no gamification, no approximations. Scores are computed from published, deterministic algorithms. Narrative interpretation is derived from those scores using deterministic score-to-band lookups that produce fixed descriptive text for each score range.
The platform is designed for three audiences: individuals seeking systematic self-understanding, clinicians who want carefully scored results brought into their practice, and researchers building study workflows. None of these audiences requires the others — each can use the platform independently and fully.
Scientific Foundation
ImplicitifyAI's scientific approach draws on the work of Dr. Daniel Winarick, a Manhattan-based licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Winarick also owns and directs PsychologistsNY.com, his Manhattan psychology practice.
Dr. Winarick's work integrates three traditions:
- Psychodynamic clinical training — structured case conceptualization, relational pattern analysis, motive inference from narrative material.
- Behavioral research methods — psychometric theory, CHC intelligence models, validity frameworks, multimethod assessment design.
- Computational linguistics — natural language processing applied to clinical narrative, psycholinguistic scoring of free-text responses.
Implicitify is home to the only fully digital, objective, and strongly empirically supported computerized test of cognitive processes central to both (a) attentional difficulties and executive-functioning weaknesses and (b) academic domain-specific functioning — specifically reading — via our lab-grade lexical decision task with semantic priming and variable stimulus-onset latencies that disentangle controlled from automatic priming effects. That is possible because Implicitify was built by a licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, half a dozen prior academic appointments, highly cited peer-reviewed empirical work, undergraduate and graduate teaching experience, and ten years of private practice in high-stakes testing — and who was trained firsthand, as an undergraduate research assistant at Washington University in St. Louis, by a leading authority on the lexical decision task.
Dr. Winarick is the author of several instruments developed specifically for ImplicitifyAI — including the Schizoid-Avoidant Distinction Tool (SADT) battery.
Methodology
Scoring. All standard screeners and self-report measures are scored by deterministic server-side code using each instrument’s published algorithm—keys, weights, and static norm tables. Identical item responses always yield identical scores. Large language models are not used to score.
Interpretation. After scores are committed, each domain is mapped to a pre-written interpretive band with fixed descriptive text authored from the published literature for that score range. The same score always produces the same band text. No probabilistic model invents or revises those bands. Output is not a clinical opinion.
Cognitive timing tasks. Performance-based cognitive tasks (Visual Digit Span, Visual Spatialization Ability Test) run in the browser and provide in-browser timed performance data. Response data is transmitted to the server per trial and stored in a de-identified session record. Performance scores are computed server-side from the raw trial data.
Projective / narrative tasks (e.g., PSE, CCRT). Free-text responses are scored by an automated deterministic lexical content-analysis engine (explicit, fixed rules). Narrative text is not sent to a third-party LLM for scoring.
Where language models may appear. If a language model is used anywhere on the platform, its role is limited to optional phrasing or user-facing help that must remain consistent with already-committed deterministic scores and band text. It does not compute scores, choose clinical conclusions, or replace published scoring rules. Disabling any such module leaves scoring and band interpretation fully operational and deterministic.
Intellectual property. Deterministic scoring architecture and AI-governance systems are the subject of pending U.S. Patent Application No. 19/741,932.
Instrument Coverage
The platform currently covers 47 instruments across self-report, clinical screening, cognitive performance, and narrative/projective domains:
- Self-report personality & traits — Mini-IPIP, IPIP-NEO-120, Interpersonal Circumplex (IPC-32), ECR-SF attachment.
- Clinical screening — SADT battery.
- Narrative and projective — Picture Story Exercise (PSE), Core Conflictual Relationship Theme (CCRT).
Other dual-use cognitive tests from cognitive psychology research — suited to neuropsychological and psychoeducational work — on Implicitify include the Color–Word Stroop, a visual digit-span task, a mental-rotation task, a variable-tempo Stroop, and tests of nonverbal logical reasoning. Beyond cognitive-process measures, Implicitify also offers digital psychometric tests of academic achievement. Unlike most of the cognitive tasks above, which are experimental and still collecting data, our writing and math achievement tests include percentile scoring keyed to the NAEP database.
The platform also includes the Cognitive Restructuring Worksheet — a guided CBT self-monitoring exercise, not a scored test — which clinicians can assign as between-session practice.
What the Platform Is Not
ImplicitifyAI is not a clinical service, does not make diagnoses, and is not a substitute for professional evaluation. Automated output does not constitute clinical opinion and should not be used as the basis for diagnostic or treatment decisions without the involvement of a qualified professional. The platform does not reproduce proprietary test forms from commercial assessment publishers.
Data and Privacy
Assessment responses are stored de-identified by default, and users may take measures anonymously without creating an account. Account holders can view their own result history. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. For licensed clinicians using patient links with their own patients, the platform can operate as a business associate under a Business Associate Agreement, with data encrypted in transit and at rest and access limited to the treating clinician and their practice. See the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer for full detail.
